Our Structured Training Approach

At the School of Classical Dance, we follow a carefully structured syllabus that supports each student’s development from their very first steps through to advanced levels.
Our training combines strong technical foundations with musicality, artistry, and confidence.
Each level is designed to guide students progressively, ensuring they grow safely, correctly, and with a deep appreciation for classical ballet.

Beginner Training

Our training videos show how beginner dancers are introduced to the fundamentals of ballet. Each class focuses on building coordination, confidence, and a strong technical foundation while keeping learning enjoyable and engaging.

Ages: 4–6 years

Levels of Training

We offer classes across a range of levels to suit different ages and abilities:

  • Pre-School & Foundation Levels
    A gentle introduction to movement, rhythm, coordination, and basic ballet positions.
  • Primary Levels
    Building core technique, posture, discipline, and musical awareness.
  • Intermediate Levels
    Developing strength, control, flexibility, and more complex movement sequences.
  • Advanced & Performance Levels
    Refining technique, artistry, and stage performance skills.

Examinations & Progress

Students are prepared for external examinations through the School of Classical Dance.
Examinations are held annually and provide students with the opportunity to:

  • Track their progress
  • Build confidence
  • Work towards personal goals
  • Gain recognised certification

Our teachers guide each student carefully through the preparation process to ensure they feel confident and well-prepared.

GRADE 1

These training videos demonstrate how students begin to build a strong technical foundation. Focus is placed on posture, coordination, musicality, and understanding basic ballet positions, while continuing to nurture confidence and enjoyment.

GRADE 2

At this level, students develop greater control and awareness of movement. Our training videos show how technique, coordination, and musicality are strengthened, while students begin to refine their understanding of ballet fundamentals.

GRADE 3

These videos reflect a growing level of strength, discipline, and coordination. Students are guided to perform movements with increased accuracy and control, while continuing to build confidence and consistency in their technique.

GRADE 4

At Grade 4, students begin to show more refined technique and strength. Training focuses on alignment, control, and musical expression, as dancers develop a deeper understanding of movement and performance.

GRADE 5

These training videos demonstrate advanced development in technique, strength, and coordination. Students are encouraged to perform with confidence, precision, and artistry, preparing them for higher levels of training and examinations.

intermediate

Our intermediate training videos showcase dancers working at a higher level of strength, control, and artistry. At this stage, students refine their technique, develop performance quality, and build the confidence required for advanced work and examinations.
